Hi guys !!!

Today we will talk about another means of transport coming to Nantes: the airport.
Nantes Atlantique Airport is precisely in Bouguenais. It is one of the most important airports on the west coast of France.
There are planes from several airlines such as Volotea, easyJet and Transavia France.
The most important flights are to Lyon, Paris, Marseille and Toulouse.
The project of a new airport «Notre-Dame-des-Landes» having been abandoned, new developments will take place in this airport.
So don’t hesitate to take a plane ticket to discover the city of Nantes!

The “Lieu Unique”

Hi guys !!!

Today we are going to speak concerning “Lieu Unique”, called also “Tour LU”. It was created in 2000. It was installed in the old building of the Lu tower.

It contains, bar, restaurants, library, a lots of dancing shows, became national scenes. I advice you to visit this monument, because it’s a symbolic image of Nantes. I find that the reconstitution of this place is unique, as its name suggests.

Also, there are debates, festival, a large choice of representation to appeal to a large population. I truly recommend it to you.

Hi guys !!!

Today the weather going well so I want to give you few places where you can go after the confinement to walk. It’s always friendly to walk in a parc or just have a seat and talk with friends. I’m going to give you a list of the different parc where like to go because they are nice and interesting. I am sure you’ll enjoy them.

La roseraie 

This parc is next to the « stade de la Beaujoire ». It’s parc where I went when I was young because there is many thing to do for children. This parc is close to the Erdre and he get many flowers and biodiversity. It’s really Wonderfull !!

La Gaudinière 

It’s in the Pont du Cens area at 10 minutes of the city center. This parc have a big water point so don’t forget your baguette to feed ducks. They also have a nice castle. It’s a nice area for the sportsman be careful there is lot of vertical. 

La Chantrerie

It’s one of the biggest parc in Nantes. The speciality of the Chantrerie is to get a little farm inside with a lot of animals like sheeps, horses, goats which the children can touch ( be careful the farm is open only on Sunday ).

Hi guys !!!

As you know, we already present the train station and the tramway. Now we will introduce you the « bicloo ». It’s some bikes that we can take when we want. There is a phone app to do it easyer. It’s very fast to use so it’s so useful at night (don’t drive if your drunk !!) or just for pleasure.

We can find these bikes at some places all over the city. There is 123 bicloo station for a total of 1000 bikes.

You can create an account to unlock the bikes faster with the app. There is also some parkings where we can leave our personal bike for not a lot of money.

Moreover, it’s very cheap because wa have the firl half-hour free and it’s nearly one euro for two hours.

Hi guys !!!

I did a little list of the restaurants, bars and night club which are cool to go with your friends or your family. I hope you well enjoy it. I try to tell you different type of bars or restaurants to satisfy each of you.  

This is my list of Bars : 

  • Le Berlin, you can find it at Petit Port, really easy to access because of the tram 
  • Le Bon Pasteur, beautiful terrace
  • La Réserve 
  • Le COTEP, next to the CHU ( Hospital ) 
  • La Canaille, you can eat here as well 
  • Prohibition, with a bars games 
  • Le Giggs, Irish PUB next to the Cathedral
  • Le Nid, at the top of the tour Bretagne 
  • Bar lounge, very nice place but it’s little bite expansive 
  • O’Deck, floating bar, really nice to take a drink during the summer and to have a look on the Loire 
  • Café du Commerce

My restaurant list : 

  • Les 3 brasseurs, cool restaurant for families 
  • Le Fou du Roi, excellent quality-price ratio, this place is cosy and perfect for a date 🙂
  • Crêperie Heb Ken, if you want some good crêpes
  • Brasserie Lus’in, really good, I never be fed up of the food 
  • La Prison, take place on place Bouffay, good restaurant 
  • La Cigale, little bite expansive but really good, the area is unique because it take place on the most beautiful square of Nantes.  
  • Le Molière, it’ a brewery which I like to go eating or to take a drink with my friends when the weather is good. 
  • La Cantine, on the île de Nantes and close to the river, during the summer you can get a unique meal made with local food ( There’s sun loungers for sunbathing. It’s great. )

For the most courageous, this is my list of night club and bars where you can danse to pass a good night : 

  • Le Warehouse, on the île de Nantes, you need to like techno  
  • Le loft, close to the place Graslin, good but a little bite small  
  • Le New Factory, little bite far away but cool 
  • Le Color’s
  • L’australian 
  • The opening of La Cantine you can not miss that

Today we are going to present you the four museum that you should absolutely visit if you are going to Nantes.

There obviously are many other museums so don’t hesitate to tell us if you want us to present them.

 Musée d’art de Nantes

After a long time under construction to be upgraded, the meseum is now open again for a few years. It is such a big museum dedicated to contemporary art located really close to the downtown. It makes it easy to access in addition of being not that expensive.

 Musée château des ducs de Bretagne

This museum is located inside the famous castle “Château des ducs de Bretagne” that we previously presented in a post. This museum tells us the history of Nantes, especially between the two world wars. Some temporary exposures linked to the city also often take place there. This museum is located in the center of Nantes, so that you can go there while having a walk in the downtown. Its gardens are really pleasant in the summer.

Musée d’histoire naturelle

It is THE museum that you can not miss during a trip at Nantes. You can discover many animals on the same floor and also find some rooms about the city’s widlife. A huge space is also dedicated to some vivariums where you can meet snakes or other fascinating animals. It also makes the museum attractive for children.

 Musée dobrée

Finally, I will present you the “Musée dobrée”. This museum retraces the whole history of Nantes from the antiquity to our modern life.

Nantes transports

Hi guys !!!

As we say on the last post, we are going to speak concerning transports. It’s important to present you, because it’s complicated to visit all by foot. It’s a large city.

In 1826, the first date where the transports appeared.

We have 5 tram lines. The first, it goes from “Saint Herblain”, to “Beaujoire”, at the football stadium wich is presenting later. The second, it goes from “Orvault”, to the south of the island of Nantes. The third, it goes from “Marcel Paul” to “Rezé”. Then, there is two bus way mainly for the south of Nantes.

There are also a lot of bus lines to corresponds with a large number of place.

There are different tarifs, depending on whether you plan to travel often enough or not. If you want to have more explications, i advice you to go to see the website to TAN. It’s the company to manage transports.

I post also a picture which represents all the lines (bus, tram).

The “Place Bouffay”

Hi guys !!!

Today, I decided to speak with you concerning the place “Bouffay” and what’s arround. It’s  mytical place. It’s one of the place the most touristic. This district is almost big. Because, we are the place “Bouffay”, then, the district around (including shopping like “Galeries Lafayette”, restaurant, bar, etc), also another place with a statue called “Eloge du pas de côté” appeared in 2018 (this is very recent). So, this district is interesting and takes a long time to visit it.

I’m going to speak more precisely on those different subjects.

The place “Bouffay” is the most old place of Nantes. Around this place, there is a cinema, then bars and restaurants, fast food, and also the Fnac shopping. It’s a varied place.

If you love doing shopping, I’m practically sure you are going to love to go to “Galerie Lafayette”. I don’t know if you know, but it’s an immense shop with a lot of variety. However, I want to add that it’s expansive. We have to have a minimum income to go to this place. But, you may also want to treat yourself rarely buy a very good quality object. For example, me, I want to go to this place exceptionally to make me pleasure. So, inside they send shoes, clothing, bags, make up, perfume, etc. Everything by different brands.

Finally, for the students, this place is very significative. In general, this is the meeting where students come for a few drinks. Mainly, during the thursday night.

It’s still not a place to miss if you want to visit Nantes. I advise you to read the next post, which is speaking to transports and explains how to get around Nantes. it’s important to go to this different place that we are introduce to you.

The “Place Graslin”

Hi guys !!!

This place, also like the “Place Royale”, is created by Mathurin Crucy. It’s a place very important too. With the “place Royale”, those are the two most important place to see if you are going to visited Nantes.

When we are going to this place, we are also going to the theater. A big monument, which impresses more than one pedestrian. In front of this theater, there is a brewery “La Cigale”. With only this place, you can have a good afternoon, under a beautiful Nantes sun.

It’s really a place to be visited. Like the “place Royale”, it’s a pedestrian street.

The “Place Royale”

Hi guys !!!

We are to going to speak about one of the most important place of Nantes.

She was designed by Mathurin Crucy (this one is also the designer of the “Place Graslin”). It’s a symbolic place of the city. In this center, there is a beautiful fountain. In general, people like to take a picture in front of this one.

Also, this is a place where there are a lots of gatherings, whether for demonstrations, for artistic gatherings, etc.

It represents symbolically classical architecture. It’s really a place to be. It has been 100% pedestrian street for only a few years. I highly recommend a stroll through the city center of Nantes, passing through this legendary place.

So, I hope I have motivated you to see this place.
